RIDING LYNX
Lynx Shredder RE 850 E-TEC Turbo R 3700 is my current sled. It’s very playful and it has so much power – such a beast! I feel it is a very versatile sled and it works everywhere - on the trail, in turns, jumps and of course in deep snow and steep riding. It’s a wheelie machine as well and that brings me so much joy. Shredder RE is also a very good looking sled and it’s tough straight out of the box.
I love free riding and riding in deep snow. Just to go out with a group of people and see where the day takes us. Find some fun spots to play around in, find some climbing and hopefully find or build some jumps and enjoy nice views! I love riding on the mountains but the forests usually have better snow and more technical areas, especially in the early winter.
Being an Lynx ambassador was a dream come true. I love the brand and I wouldn’t ride any other brand. It’s pretty awesome that Lynx are made in Finland. I think that the sleds are so tough and they really come ready-to-ride from a factory. I grew up with everyone in my family having Lynx so it kind of feels like home to me.
STARTING OUT
We are outdoor people in my family and snowmobiles have been a natural part of our life. When I was a kid, we spent almost every weekend and holiday in our cabin in Jokkmokk, Northern Sweden. We used snowmobiles every day to get water or wood to the cabin but also to go out for ice fishing or making tracks. My family made a track just for my brother and my cousins and we had some older retro sleds that we took turns going around the track with.
I got my first sled as soon as I turned 16 and I got my license. It was a Lynx Enduro 400F 2004. I used it for transport mostly but tried some stuff that my brother was doing. 2014 I bought a new sled and really spent almost all of my money and time during the winter trying to improve my riding as much as possible. Almost every weekend was spent behind the bars.
LIVING SISU
In March 2022 my paradise trip ended with an accident. I broke my back pretty badly and broke ribs that punctured my lung. Unfortunately we had to spend 14 hours on the mountain until a helicopter could come and get me. We were in a remote area and there was steep terrain around us. Luckily I had the most amazing people with me and the night went pretty well with their help to keep me warm and cheer me up. They truly made it the best worst night ever, which we joked about. After this it was a long and hard road with hospitals, x rays, healing and rehab.
The first thing on my mind after this happened was my dog and then snowmobiling. Riding is truly my passion and it means so much to me and that has been a really good motivator building my body back up. I’m very determined and my work has already paid off even though I still have some problems. I feel extremely lucky considering everything and I’ve learned a lot from this experience. One thing I promised myself in the hospital was to go back to Canada the next season and I made it! It was even more amazing than I remembered and that was something I really needed. I love Revelstoke for riding and the people we met there. I have a strong bond to that place now.
